Dear Visitors,
Welcome to the Jackson Orthopaedic
Foundation (JOF). If you have been here before, you might have noticed
the change in our name as we were previously known as the Jackson
Arthritis Center (JAC).
When my collegues and I first came
together in the fall of 1999, we had a vision to make a difference in
the lives of people living with arthritis. A not-for-profit organization
open to the general public seemed the likely answer, the result of which
became the Jackson Arthritis Center.
With the maturity and experience gained
since our inception, we realized a need to broaden our mission in order
to serve our community further. Though our vision has not changed, our
name has in order to reflect that forward thinking goal.
The field of orthopaedics has made
ongoing strides towards improving the lives of those affected. Many of
these advancements can be directly used for the betterment of those
living with arthritis, and our hopes are to be open to them.
In that same vein, the Jackson
Orthopaedic Foundation looks towards the future while serving those in
our community with our clinical research trials and patient education
programs (though we do not offer clinic services).
We hope that you will continue using our
services, reading our newsletter, submitting articles and ideas,
contributing monetarily, becoming a volunteer, and/or stopping by to
visit with us at the Foundation. Your continued support and generous
contributions allow us to reach more goals in helping our community.
Thank you.
Warm regards,
William S.T. Jackson, M.D.
Chairman
