The Jackson Orthopaedic Foundation is dedicated to patient education and outreach, and we have a range of programs available for
patients at every stage of the arthritis. All of our programs focus on understanding your options and finding
an arthritis management program that works for you. The
following classes are held at the Center.
Joint School
One of our most popular patient education programs,
Joint School is a class for patients planning to undergo a total joint
replacement. The one and a half hour session reviews the entire
operative process: from preoperative preparation through rehabilitation
and recovery.
Caregivers are encouraged to attend the class at the
same time as their patients.
You must RSVP 24 hours before the day of the class
that you would like to sit in on. Please call (510) 238-4851 x 101.
Arthritis Basics
This class is aimed at
patients interested in learning more about the major forms of arthritis.
The material covers everything from etiology of arthritis to the wide
range of available treatment options.
Arthritis Basics is also offered in the community at no charge with a
minimum of 5 participants. Please call (510) 238-4851 x 101 to arrange for a class to be taught at your location.
